Around 400 business owners and CEOs from over 35 different countries are expected to attend the annual International Egg Commission (IEC) Global Leadership Conference at The Belfry’s City Halls.
They will be accommodated in the Swan Collection hotels, with the Grand Hotel Casselbergh being used as the headquarters.
The conference will comprise lectures, workshops, networking events and leisure opportunities including a welcome reception at the Provincial Court, a chocolate workshop and a formal dinner at the halls of the Belfry.
Local IEC member Ovobel helped win the congress for the city in collaboration with the Bruges Convention Bureau. Cassy Price, secretary general of the International Egg Commission, said: “We are thrilled to be holding the IEC Global Leadership Conference in Bruges; with the backdrop of such an inspiring location. With the support of Meeting in Brugge, and True Bruges we have been able to create a very attractive programme for our conference, which includes a wide range of social functions. We’re sure that our delegates will be charmed by this beautiful city.”
The international Egg Commission was established in 1964, and holds its annual Global Leadership Conference in different locations each year. This will be the second time the association has held its conference in Belgium, the previous being in 1988 in Antwerp.
